The Aros Hall is the largest multi-functional space in the town of Tobermory. On entering the hall you come into the foyer. Stairs lead up to the main hall, which is also accessible via chair lift. The foyer is used in the summer months by MESS as a retail space. For the rest of the year, it is populated with chairs and tables to provide a space for small groups to meet. We also have a selection of books for sale
The ground floor comprises a large kitchen with hatch into the foyer, which can also double up as a bar. The kitchen is well equipped with 3 freezers, a fridge, pots, pans and ample crockery/ cutlery for large functions. We also boast a coffee machine and a large contemporary oven, ideal for large scale catering.
Leading off the corridor are the ladies and gents toilets. Our soft play facility can be found in the lower hall and this can also be utilised as a meeting venue for up to 20 people. The lower hall contains a fully equipped disabled toilet and baby changing facility.
At the top of the stairs is the main hall and a smaller kitchen. This kitchen is used on a day to day basis and is perfectly adequate for smaller functions. The kitchen contains a double sink, fridge, drinks fridge and electric oven. The lighting loft is also accessed via the upper kitchen but can only be accessed by trained personnel. Please enquire about stage lighting at time of booking.
The main hall with its barrel shaped ceiling can seat up to 150 people or can accommodate 250 people standing. The hall comes equipped with folding tables and padded seats. These are stored on the stage and at the top of the landing. The stage area measures 15 feet by 15 feet and is fully kitted out for theatrical performances with stage blacks and red velvet curtains. The stage also has a 3 foot extension. At the back of the stage is a storage area and is where the steps leading from the lower hall surface. There are two emergency exits located here.
